The start of a new week – everything on the news is doom and gloom (we are now officially in recession). It is very easy to be sucked into the depression that surrounds us in the world.
I don’t want to be glib when considering these things – for many of us they pose a very real challenge in the practical affairs of our daily lives, but….
Our hope is in something (someone) greater. He who owns the cattle on a thousand hills is able to sustain and provide for his children. He who gave himself for our peace is able to keep us in peace. He who loves us beyond our understanding will provide a way through for us. He is the covenant keeping God and his name is Yahweh Jireh – my provider.
