1. What do you think of the idea of the Church as a Pilgrim People?

2. How would you feel if, like Abraham, God called you to go on a journey, the destination of which you did not know?

3. Are you more excited by the prospect of the journey or of the destination?

4. ‘It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end’. Discuss.

5. ‘It is not so much what God does through you but what God does in you that counts’. Discuss.

1. Looking at Matthew 4:17 / Mark 1:14, consider what Jesus’ message meant to those who heard it.

2. Consider the signs of the kingdom in Luke 4:14-21. Compare this with the list in Isaiah 61:1-2. What do the omissions suggest?

3. From Matthew 12:28, what is the significance of the casting out of demons?

4. What does Acts 1:3-6 tell us about the mindset of the disciples?

5. If Jesus is now king, what does this suggest about the way I should live?

4. How do you feel about worship being an act of giving rather than just a song that is sung?
