It has been a couple of months since I have blogged for the web site so I thought I should exercise my fingers once more and share a few thoughts.
Summer, for me, was a time of refreshment and renewal. I am entering Autumn with a new sense of purpose and direction and with renewed vision for the church and the future.
It started with a period of doing nothing much (or at least nothing related to leading the church). I had not realised how tired I was until I stopped and just had some ‘me’ time. This involved decorating, clearing, sorting and a few daytrips, as well as time with Carolyn.
Next came my trip to India which, as well as the teaching, included times of reflection and seeking the Lord. Being in that atmosphere of faith and expectation in God cannot help but renew your spirit, and I came back with a revitalised desire to go forward.
Then came Grapevine where we were given a diet of exhortation to take the good news beyond our four walls. The message of the weekend was not deep or profound but it was encouranging and challenging, and, for me, it added to the momentum of what had gone before.
My desire is to see authentic Christians living authentic christian lives, where God and church are not add ons to a busy work / social life, but where God and His kingdom are at the centre of everything we are and do. In such Christians faith will rise and a desire to see the love of God shed abroad will start to consume them until together we see the lost saved, broken lives repaired and those in chains set free.
For all who read this, I encourage you to seek first His kingdom and his righteousness and let God take care of the rest.

We are running the Just 10 series on a Thursday evening at 7:30pm in parallel with the Sunday Mornings for anyone who has missed the first showing or for any who wish to bring their friends to see it in a less formal environment.
