A big thank you to everyone who supported me in raising funds to accompany the Leadership Development Partnership Trust in going to teach emerging leaders in Kenya. It was a fantastic trip!

The first week was spent in Kombewa, just north of Lake Victoria giving input to Glad Tidings Network. This is a Pentecostal network working in rural towns and villages. The week was attended by about 25 leaders. The second week was spent in Bungoma near the Ugandan border, once more teaching approximately 50  emerging leaders in a small Pentecostal network. In both weeks the focus was on understanding leadership from both a theological and a historical perspective. We also taught on spiritual warfare.

The Kenyan church faces some serious challenges. These including splintering, self-promotion of leaders, political issues in the country, tribalism, militant Islam, and corruption, as well as the spiritual battle that confronts them with regard to witchcraft. Our aim was to build into the attendees a deeper understanding of the Bible and to deal with error so that they will be better equipped to deal with these challenges and so that the church will be strong.

Whilst we were only able to teach small numbers of leaders in comparison with the whole country, we believe we have given them some extra tools to enable them to do the work of ministry, and this is something that, as a church, we all share in because it is only by the generosity of all who gave that this was made possible.

Thank you once again and every blessing,

Richard
