In our family, there are times when birthdays all fall in the same month. June is one such month with six birthdays all within the space of 28 days. This makes it an expensive month of celebrations! However, I believe family are always to be celebrated. That is why it is so good that, when we come into the church, we also come into a family, and Tony does a sterling job of remembering everyone’s birthdays.
Being family together is more than celebrating birthdays, of course. It is about receiving one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. It is abut supporting one another in need and celebrating with one another in triumph. And it is about recognising the work of Jesus in bringing us together as one body through the work of the cross.
